How it's done

How a design becomes
a shipped interface

What actually happens between
the brief and the deploy.

Four-stage funnel: understand, plan, build, ship
01

Understand

Starting with the designs and the people using them. Which states the UI actually needs, where the data comes from, and the cases the mockups skipped — empty, loading, error, name-too-long.

02

Plan

Mapping screens to components before writing any, decide what's genuinely shared and what only looks shared, and settle the API shape early so the frontend isn't blocked waiting on it.

03

Build

Typed, accessible components in small increments, with something clickable in the first few days. Keyboard navigation and responsive behaviour go in the first pass, not a cleanup ticket.

04

Ship & iterate

Deploy behind CI, then watch the real numbers — bundle size, Core Web Vitals, error rates — and fix whatever the plan got wrong.

Beyond the code

The details that separate
shipped from finished

The tools matter less than how you use them under a deadline.

Beyond the happy pathCareful attention to the parts of an interface that are easy to skip.
Nothing breaks in real useA site can look fine in a demo and fall apart with real customers. I test the awkward cases early, so it holds up once people start using it.
Fast, and works for everyonePages load quickly on older phones and slower connections, and work properly for people using a keyboard or screen reader.
Working together

More than a developer

Team WorkI adapt to a team's rhythm quickly and keep communication clear along the way.
Learns fast, ships fasterPicking up something new isn't a chore for me — it's the part of the job I look forward to most.
Genuinely into softwareThis isn't a job I fell into — it's one I chose, and I still enjoy the craft of it every single day.
